INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts today signed undrafted free agent cornerback Juante Baldwin and waived cornerback Channing Stribling.
Baldwin, 5-11, 188 pounds, joins the Colts after competing on a tryout basis during the team's mandatory mini-camp. He also spent time in Kansas City on a tryout basis for the Chiefs' 2018 rookie mini-camp. Baldwin spent two seasons (2016-17) at Pittsburg State. In 2017, he started all 12 games and compiled 30 tackles (20 solo), 2.0 tackles for loss, three interceptions and one forced fumble. Baldwin redshirted the 2016 season after transferring from Friends University. He spent three seasons at Friends and registered 43 tackles, 3.0 sacks, four forced fumbles and one interception. Baldwin earned Second Team All-KCAC honors as a sophomore. He also was also an NAIA All-America sprinter and placed seventh in the 100m (10.65) at the 2016 NAIA Outdoor Championships.
Stribling, 6-1, 188 pounds, was signed by the Colts on May 29. As a rookie in 2017, he spent time on the practice squads of Indianapolis, Cleveland and San Francisco. Stribling was originally signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2017.
