Colts sign DE Levi Bell, waive G Lewis Kidd

Westfield, Ind. – The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent defensive end Levi Bell and waived guard Lewis Kidd.

Bell, 6-1, 275 pounds, most recently spent time with the Michigan Panthers (2023-24) of the UFL. In 2024, he was placed on the Injured Reserve list and did not play. Bell saw action in six games (four starts) in 2023 and recorded 16 tackles (seven solo) and 4.0 sacks. He appeared in one postseason contest and registered seven tackles (one solo) and 1.0 tackle for loss. In between stints with the Panthers, Bell spent time on the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad in 2023. Prior to his first stint with Michigan, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2023.

Collegiately, Bell played in 12 games (11 starts) in one season (2022) at Texas State and compiled 66 tackles (26 solo), 13.5 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks. He earned Second Team All-Sun Belt honors. Prior to Texas State, Bell spent two seasons (2020-21) at Louisiana Tech, where he appeared in 13 games (three starts) and totaled 27 tackles (14 solo), 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and one fumble recovery. In 2019, he saw action in nine games at Tyler (Texas) Junior College and registered 41 tackles (35 solo), 3.0 sacks and one fumble recovery. Bell appeared in seven games at the College of Idaho in 2018 and tallied 17 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one fumble recovery.

Kidd, 6-6, 311 pounds, was originally signed to the Colts' practice squad on September 14, 2023. He spent Weeks 2-15 on the practice squad last season. Kidd participated in the New Orleans Saints' 2023 offseason program and training camp. As a rookie in 2022, he played in 13 games (one start) with the Saints after originally signing with the team as an undrafted free agent on May 16, 2022.
