INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts today signed quarterback Chad Kelly to the practice squad and released tackle Tyree St. Louis from the practice squad.
Kelly, 6-2, 216 pounds, originally signed with the Colts as a free agent on May 20, 2019. He participated in the team's 2019 offseason program and training camp. Kelly previously spent two seasons (2017-18) with the Denver Broncos. He saw action in one game for the Broncos in 2018. In 2017, Kelly spent his entire rookie season on the NFI/Injured Reserve list due to injuries he sustained in college. He was originally selected by Denver in the seventh round (253rd overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
St. Louis, 6-5, 315 pounds, was signed to the Indianapolis practice squad on September 7, 2019. He spent time on the New England Patriots' practice squad earlier this year. St. Louis participated in the Patriots' 2019 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on August 31 and signed to the practice squad the next day. He originally signed with New England as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2019. Collegiately, St. Louis started 34 games along the offensive line at Miami (FL).
