Indianapolis – The Indianapolis Colts today signed tackle Matt Goncalves and guard Tanor Bortolini.
The Colts have now signed seven of their nine draft picks from the 2024 NFL Draft.
Goncalves, 6-6, 317 pounds, was selected by Indianapolis in the third round (79th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. He appeared in 38 career games (24 starts) at Pittsburgh (2019-23) with 13 starts at right tackle and 11 starts at left tackle. In 2023, Goncalves was named a team captain. He started the first three contests of the season at left tackle before suffering a season-ending injury. In 2022, Goncalves started all 13 games he saw action in with starts at right tackle (eight) and left tackle (five). He garnered Third Team All-ACC accolades and was selected to the All-ACC Academic Football Team. His last name is pronounced gunn‐ZAWL‐vezz.
Bortolini, 6-4, 303 pounds, was selected by the Colts in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. He saw action in 35 career games (28 starts) at Wisconsin (2020-23) with 13 starts at center, eight at left guard, three at right guard, three at right tackle and one at tight end. In 2023, Bortolini started all 12 games at center. He earned All-Big Ten honorable mention recognition in each of his last two seasons (2022-23). Bortolini was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten Team member (2021-23). His name is pronounced TANN‐er bort‐oh‐LEE‐nee.
