Indianapolis – The Indianapolis Colts today elevated linebacker Liam Anderson and cornerback Kelvin Joseph to the active roster from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. The team also signed linebacker Austin Ajiake to the practice squad and released wide receiver Ethan Fernea from the practice squad.
Anderson, 6-3, 226 pounds, has spent the entire season on the team's practice squad. He was originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023. Anderson has appeared in one career game in his time with Indianapolis (2023-24). Collegiately, he played in 53 games (30 starts) at Holy Cross (2018-22) and compiled 231 tackles (148 solo), 37.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, 11 passes defensed, six interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Anderson was a two-time First Team All-Patriot League choice (2021-22).
Joseph, 6-1, 195 pounds, has spent most of this season on the team's practice squad. He was originally signed to the practice squad on September 11, 2024. Joseph has appeared in 31 career games (three starts) in his time with the Colts (2024), Kansas City Chiefs (2024), Seattle Seahawks (2023), Miami Dolphins (2023) and Dallas Cowboys (2021-23). He has recorded 29 tackles (25 solo), 1.0 tackle for loss, four passes defensed, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 10 special teams stops. Joseph has played in three postseason contests and has tallied one forced fumble and two special teams stops. He was originally selected by the Cowboys in the second round (44th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Kentucky.
Ajiake, 6-1, 223 pounds, spent Weeks 1-6 on the team's practice squad. He was originally signed to Indianapolis' practice squad on December 28, 2023. As a rookie last season, Ajiake spent time on the practice squads of the Colts, Green Bay Packers and Las Vegas Raiders. He participated in training camp with the Denver Broncos after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent on August 3, 2023, out of UNLV. His last name is pronounced AH-gee-kay.
Fernea, 6-0, 195 pounds, was signed to the practice squad on October 17, 2024. He participated in the Colts' 2024 offseason program and training camp. Fernea spent time on the team's active roster and practice squad the last two seasons (2022-23). In 2023, he saw action in three games. As a rookie in 2022, Fernea played in one game. He was originally signed by Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022, out of UCLA. His last name is pronounced FIR-knee-uh.
