Colts elevate DE Genard Avery, S Ronnie Harrison Jr. to active roster from practice squad for Week 2 game vs. Packers

Indianapolis The Indianapolis Colts today elevated defensive end Genard Avery and safety Ronnie Harrison Jr. to the active roster from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Avery, 6-0, 250 pounds, was signed to the team's practice squad on August 28, 2024. He was originally signed by Indianapolis as a free agent on June 1, 2023. Avery has played in 62 career games (17 starts) in his time with the Colts (2023-24), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2022), Philadelphia Eagles (2019-21) and Cleveland Browns (2018-19). He has compiled 100 tackles (61 solo), 12.0 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, five passes defensed, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and six special teams stops. Avery has also appeared in one postseason contest and has registered one tackle. His first name is pronounced juh-NARD.

Harrison Jr., 6-3, 214 pounds, was signed to the team's practice squad on September 11, 2024. He participated in the Colts' 2024 offseason program and training camp. Harrison Jr. was originally signed by Indianapolis as a free agent on August 14, 2023. He has played in 74 career games (48 starts) in his time with the Colts (2023-24), Browns (2020-22) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2018-19). Harrison Jr. has compiled 238 tackles (156 solo), 10.0 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 25 passes defensed, seven interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), two fumble recoveries and five special teams stops. He has also appeared in two postseason contests (one start) and has tallied seven tackles (five solo) and 1.0 tackle for loss.
