The Colts on Sunday ruled out seven players for their season opener against the Houston Texans;

WR Josh Downs (ankle)
QB Sam Ehlinger (3rd quarterback)
K Matt Gay (hernia)
CB Dallis Flowers
G Tanor Bortolini
T Blake Freeland
TE Will Mallory

Gay (hernia) did not practice this week but was listed as questionable. Undrafted rookie Spencer Shrader will kick in his place.
