HOT OFF THE PRESS

After 23 years, Pat Parks has decided to step as the top man at Shelbyville. Parks leaves with an overall mark of 126-120.

River Forest is looking for a new coach after Austen Robison resigned after three seasons with a 13018 mark.

Scott Helms announced his retirement after 23 years at North Daviess where he compiled a 120-125 mark with the Cougars.

There will be a new state champion in all six classes after Penn's 34-7 victory over defending Class 6A champion Carmel. The loss also snapped the Greyhounds' eight-game post-season winning streak.

Luke Crilly's 28-yard field goal as time expired helped Woodlan clinch its first state title game appearance with a 15-14 win over top-ranked Eastbrook in Class 2A action.

Caleb Hamilton's five-yard touchdown romp with 2:17 remaining lifted Eastern Greene to the state finals for the first time with a 12-8 win over Indianapolis Lutheran in Class 1A play.

Kyle Wade tossed for 194 yards and two scores as Kokomo earned its first trip to the state finals with a 21-14 win over Michigan City.

Pioneer will be making its second straight appearance in the Class 1A finale as a result of a 42-14 win over Monroe Central, while Columbus East is going back to the Class 5A final with its 42-13 win over Indianapolis Cathedral.

LONGEST WINNING STREAKS

Pioneer and Lowell have a 14-game winning streak.

Eastern Greene has won 14 games in a row on the field.

Indianapolis Ben Davis has won 13 straight games.

Columbus East and Penn have won 12 consecutive games.

Brebeuf Jesuit has an eight-game winning streak.

Evansville Memorial has won seven games in a row.

East Central, Kokomo, Southridge, and Woodlan have captured five straight contests.
