NEWS AND NUGGETS

Earning their first sectional championships were Maconaquah, North Harrison, Eastern (Greentown), and Taylor.

Johan Von Sandersleben's 31-yard field goal in overtime gave Huntington North its first sectional title since 1993 with a 31-28 win over Lebanon.

Trailing 35-7 in the second half, Brownsburg rallied for a 38-35 win over defending Class 6A state champion Indianapolis Ben Davis.

Quinton Brock's four-yard touchdown run with 12 seconds left lifted No. 9 (Class 5A) Warsaw to a 31-28 upset of No. 1 (Class 5A) Concord.

Landon Snyder threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to his brother, Jackson Snyder, with 11 seconds left, and then converted the game-winning two-point conversion to help Mishawaka rally for a 22-21 win over defending Class 4A state runner-up NorthWood.

Caiden Hill's four-yard touchdown pass to Jase Ruggles with four seconds on the clock allowed Fishers to down rival Hamilton Southeastern, 44-41.

Carroll (Fort Wayne) stopped defending Class 5A state champion Fort Wayne Snider's six-game post-season winning streak with a 21-10 victory.

Delta's Chris Overholt ended a nine-year run with the Eagles in which he recorded a 56-44 mark with two sectional crowns in 2016 and 2023. He will become an assistant principal at the high school.

Dave Sharpe has resigned after a five-year run at Noblesville where he posted a 14-38 record.

Anderson will have a new boss in 2025 after Jarrod Pennycuff stepped down after going 5-25 in his three-year stint.
