Chase VanSchoyck broke his own single game state rushing record with 22 carries for 581 yards and seven touchdowns, leading North Central (Farmersburg) to a 71-50 win over Eastern Greene. VanSchoyck, who had 511 yards last season, left the game in the third quarter with an injury, but is expected to be ready to play Friday against Riverton Parke.
D.J. Wilkins tallied 102 yards rushing and three touchdowns on seven attempts in Merrillville's 34-13 win over LaPorte. Wilkins also passed for 46 yards and one score, and Bryant Isabell chipped in 111 yards on the ground for the Pirates. Charles Salary scored twice for the Slicers, who played after the death of junior Jake West from cardiac arrest this past Wednesday. There was a moment of silence as both teams wore No. 26 stickers on their helmets in memory and remembrance of West.
Senior Ricky Brookins recorded a school-record six touchdowns as Terre Haute North breezed to a 49-17 win over Columbus North. Brookins ran 14 times for 183 yards and three scores, caught two touchdown passes, and returned an interception 56 yards for another tally. Chris Barrett II added three touchdown passes for the Patriots. Michael Vogel tossed a pair of scoring passes to Weston Moore, and Josh Holt added 110 yards rushing for the Bulldogs.
Conner Smith completed 21-of-29 passes for 465 yards and six touchdowns in Perry Meridian's 56-35 win over Bloomington North. The two teams combined for 1,368 yards of offense. JaQuan Keys ran 15 times for 117 yards and caught 10 passes for 100 yards and two scores, while Daymeon Hamilton added six receptions for 176 yards and two scores for the Falcons. Andrew Robinson rushed 14 times for 102 yards for Perry Meridian, and Hunter Jastremski ran 25 times for 303 yards and two touchdowns for Bloomington North. Jack Smith added 224 yards through the air and two scores, and Jon Frederick had five catches for 101 yards and one tally for the Cougars.
James Gilbert scored a pair of touchdowns to help Indianapolis Tech to a 24-6 lead over F.W. South. The contest was halted with 1:11 remaining in the third quarter after a fight broke out between the two clubs. The incident was being investigated by the IHSAA.
Ryan Jankowski ran for a career-high 219 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries, leading South Bend St. Joseph to a 42-21 clubbing of Mishawaka Marian. Matt Monserez completed 20-of-28 passes for 232 yards and two scores for St. Joe. Denton Gillis added six catches for 99 yards and one score, and Garrett Lukens recorded 10 tackles, including two for losses, for the Indians. Jacob Whitfield scored twice for Marian.
Casey Adams found the end zone three times and finished with 74 yards rushing as Jimtown surprised top-ranked (Class 5A) Concord, 35-14. Nik Olson added 116 yards rushing, and Marquis Schieber chipped in a touchdown run and pass for the Jimmies.
David Dilts ran for 77 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, helping Culver Military Academy rally for a 23-19 win over Glenn. Daniel Wallace tossed for a pair of scores for Glenn, which had a 19-3 advantage heading into the final period.
Tyler Katschke rushed the ball 11 times for 141 yards and three touchdowns in Winamac's 51-0 thrashing of West Central.
Jacob Hodeshell had 138 yards on the ground and two touchdowns as Rochester cruised to a 48-7 win over Manchester. Jay Heckathorn recorded 13 tackles, two quarterback sacks, a 70-yard fumble recovery for a score for the Zebras.
Tony Zook and Cameron Kitson combined for more than 200 yards rushing and five touchdowns, leading Fairfield to a 53-14 win over Angola. Zook had 137 yards and three scores and Kitson added 100 yards and two tallies.
Josh Collyer, Thomas Roebel, and Taylor Raatz all ran for more than 100 yards in Lakeland's 28-14 win over Eastside. Collyer had 128 yards and one score, Roebel chipped in 112 yards, and Raatz added 100 yards and two scores.
Nolan Sponseller ran four times for 109 yards and three touchdowns and returned an interception 34 yards for another tally, leading Tippecanoe Valley to a 62-20 drubbing of Wabash. Ben Shrive added 184 yards passing and three scores and also ran for a four tally for the Vikings.
Daigien Morgan carried the ball 18 times for 103 yards and two touchdowns, lifting S.B. Riley to a 23-0 shutout of S.B. Adams. A week after running for a school-best 425 yards and five touchdowns, Adams back Shaq Vann was limited to 13 carries for 45 yards.
Gage Reinhard was 17-of-24 through the air for 321 yards and five touchdowns in Wawasee's 52-35 come-from-behind win over Plymouth. Reinhard also ran for a score, and Clayton Cook hauled in 11 passes for 219 yards and four scores for the Warriors, who forced six turnovers to rally from a 14-0 deficit. Michael Hartman racked up 175 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 23 carries for Plymouth. Jack Barron added 175 yards passing with one touchdown and one score rushing, and Vincente Vasquez tallied 9.5 tackles for the Rockies.
Jaylin Rhodes rolled up 174 yards on the ground and three scores in Elkhart Memorial's 35-13 win over S.B. Clay. Anthony Taborn had 175 yards rushing on 34 carries for Clay before leaving with leg cramps in the fourth quarter.
Tanner Bradley had 22 rushes for 118 yards and a touchdown in Mishawaka's 28-13 win over Elkhart Central. Darian Phillips added two scores on the ground and one through the air, and James Alexander added two interceptions for the Cavemen, who have won four straight games. Vinny Schnell passed for 174 yards and ran for one touchdown, Tre Taylor added 10 catches for 117 yards, and Eliseo Guerra recovered two fumbles for the Blazers.
Central Michigan recruit Zach Oakley was 8-of-11 passing for 115 yards and four touchdowns, leading Penn to a 58-0 blanking of S.B. Washington. Nate Miller hauled in two scoring passes for the Kingsmen, who limited Washington to 50 total yards and three first downs.
Drake Dierdorf scored three touchdowns as New Prairie tied a school-best for points in a game with a 62-0 thrashing of Triton. Zach Brassell added two touchdown passes and a run for a score for the Cougars, who amassed 475 total yards.
Joe Stoller had 10 rushes for 146 yards and two touchdowns in Bremen's 38-7 win over LaVille. Reid Zellmer added a scoring reception and run for the Lions.
Drew Dan scored the game-winning touchdown and two-point conversion, helping Knox to a 21-19 overtime win over Culver. Eric Dan chipped in 129 yards rushing and one score for the Redskins. Trent Elliott ran for a touchdown, caught a pass for another score, and returned a fumble 91 yards for a third tally for the Cavaliers.
Travis Schlabach ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns, lifting Northridge to a 38-14 win over NorthWood. Tanner Love was 6-of-7 passing for 105 yards and one score for the Raiders, who snapped a 29-game losing streak to NorthWood and won for the first time since 1988. Will Kirkwood passed and ran for scores for the Panthers.
Tristan McClone ran the ball 12 times for 258 yards and three touchdowns, leading Warsaw to a 34-12 win against Goshen. Caleb Klusman connected on field goals of 34 and 22 yards for the Tigers. Derek DeMeyer threw for 173 yards and one touchdown and ran for another tally for the Redskins.
Tanner Hughes paved the way with 202 yards rushing and three touchdowns in Whitko's 34-20 win over Northfield. Ethan Nicodemus added two scores on the ground for the Wildcats, who accumulated 420 yards rushing. Josh Bickel ran for two touchdowns for the Norsemen.
Jalen Thomas completed 7-of-8 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns as F.W. Wayne crushed No. 2 (Class 4A) and previously unbeaten F.W. Bishop Dwenger, 45-6. Austin Yarbro caught a pass and ran for scores for the Generals. Mike Fiacable tossed for 175 yards and one score for the Saints.
Logan Leiter and Jordan Hissong combined for more than 350 yards rushing and five touchdowns as Leo soared to a 35-12 win over Heritage. Leiter had 197 yards on the ground and three scores, and Hissong added 166 yards and two tallies.
Mike Lovett was 19-of-34 for 313 yards and three touchdowns, helping F.W. North to a 27-13 win against F.W. Snider. Lovett also ran for 66 yards, Nick Cook had a touchdown catch and run, and Tabor Jordan hauled in eight passes for 147 yards and one score for the Redskins. Colton Painter passed for 185 yards and two touchdowns, and Isaiah Newton had six receptions for 104 yards and two scores for the Panthers.
Piercen Harnish passed for 129 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 96 yards and another tally, leading Norwell to a 35-7 win over East Noble. Reggie Hayes hauled in four receptions for 109 yards and two scores for the Knights, who snapped a 16-game regular season losing skid.
Nolan Goebel carried the football 33 times for 213 yards and four touchdowns, leading Evansville Mater Dei to a 31-24 win over Castle. Luke Zietke added two interceptions for the Wildcats. Will Randell threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns, and Christian Peach caught five passes for 104 yards and one score for the Knights.
Avion Sullivan accumulated 301 of his 354 yards rushing in the first half of Evansville Central's 63-21 thrashing of Evansville Harrison. Sullivan finished six touchdowns, four of them coming in the opening 24 minutes.
Mike McDowell accounted for two touchdowns and 2.5 quarterback sacks, helping Evansville Reitz claim a 34-14 win against Evansville Memorial. Jordan Scheessele tossed for 215 yards and one score for Memorial.
Ian Nunley was 13-of-20 for 237 yards and four touchdowns, lifting Evansville Bosse to a 47-45 win over Evansville North. Carrington Crutcher added 194 yards rushing and two scores for the Bulldogs. Jesse Milliken tallied two scoring runs for the Huskies.
Benjamin Malone passed for two touchdowns in Tell City's 24-21 loss to Southridge.
Nick Sellers threw for four touchdowns as Gibson Southern picked up their win at Heritage Hills since 1975 with a 50-26 triumph over the Patriots.
Josh Taylor scored three touchdowns, including a three-yard run with 1:03 remaining, leading Tecumseh to a 35-34 win over West Washington. Adam Grannan passed for 183 yards and two scores for the Braves.
Riley Snodgrass rushed for 151 yards and one touchdown and passed for another score, lifting Mount Vernon to a 26-15 win over Boonville. Austin Guthrie added two touchdown runs for the Wildcats.
Jake Burden found the end zone four times in South Spencer's 42-9 win over Pike Central.
Lance Inkenbrandt tallied 159 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 21 carries, helping North Posey cruise to a 50-10 win over Forest Park.
Austin LeClere scampered for 143 yards and three touchdowns in Perry Central's 40-6 drubbing of Wood Memorial. Devin Martin ran for two scores and caught a pass for a third tally for the Commodores.
Nolan Ahrens threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third tally, leading Jasper to a 51-13 decision over Princeton. It was the 100th career win for Wildcats' coach Tony Ahrens. Ian Songer added two scores for Jasper, and Deon Hardiman paced Princeton with a pair of touchdown runs.
Tristan Peterson ran 18 times for 180 yards and three touchdowns in Crown Point's 26-3 win over Valparaiso.
George Fields accumulated 174 yards rushing and two touchdowns, including the game-winner early in the fourth quarter, helping Lowell hang on for 21-20 win over Hobart. Tyler Hopkins tallied 17 tackles, including three for losses, while Dan Garza added 14 tackles, four for losses, and a fumble recovery for the Red Devils. Josh Bottos chipped in 12 tackles for Lowell. Andrew Barras passed for 211 yards, and Drey Devereaux hauled in seven catches for 142 yards for Hobart. Noah Smith found the end zone twice for the Brickies.
Brandon Scott ran for 143 yards and two touchdowns, leading Lake Central to a 24-10 win over Michigan City. Making his first varsity start, sophomore quarterback Ethan Darter, who is third string, was 17-of-22 through the air for 165 yards for the Indians.
Jacob Wasz found the end zone twice as Wheeler posted a 27-19 win over River Forest. Malachi Sala tallied 158 total yards and three scores to pace River Forest.
Making his first appearance of the season, running back Hashim Simpson carried the football 31 times for 121 yards and four touchdowns in Portage's 45-14 win over Chesterton.
Sophomore Evan Stewart proved to be a force on both sides of the field with 167 yards rushing, two touchdowns, and two interceptions as Boone Grove posted a 23-14 win over Hammond.
Junior back Ethan Young tallied 107 of his 164 rushing yards in the first half, leading Whiting to a 48-7 win over North Newton. Young finished with three touchdowns, and Martin Petruf returned the opening kickoff 72 yards for a touchdown for the Oilers.
Kyle Sturdy threw for 183 of his 219 yards in the opening half, lifting South Central to a 42-14 win over Lake Station. Sturdy threw for three scores and also ran for 43 yards for the Satellites.
Vance Shearer passed for 145 yards and three touchdowns in New Haven's 29-6 triumph over Columbia City.
Dom Lucito racked up 230 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 24 carries, leading Munster to a 38-16 win over Griffith. Jeffrey Proctor chipped in 25 rushes for 161 yards and two scores for the Mustangs.
Keegan Higgins and Darrick Webster both surpassed the 100-yard mark rushing as Kankakee Valley rolled to a 40-6 win over North Judson. Higgins had eight carries for 115 yards and two touchdowns, Webster added 107 yards on eight attempts, and Joe Partin added two scores for the Kougars.
Alex Cowan ran for two touchdowns and passed for a third score, helping Columbus East cruise to a 76-30 win against Floyd Central. Markell Jones added three scores for the Olympians. Gaige Klingsmith racked up 25 carries for 171 yards and two touchdowns, and Ryan Lenz recorded a 70-yard punt for the Highlanders.
Connor Christansen was 16-of-22 passing for 268 yards and two touchdowns in Fishers' 47-28 win over McCutcheon. Harvey Allen added 21 carries for 108 yards and two scores, and Alex Sahakian connected on field goals of 20 and 30 yards for the Tigers, who accumulated 467 yards of offense. Nate Deno ran 21 times for 162 yards and two touchdowns, and Blake Elming chipped in 156 yards on the ground and two scores on 14 attempts for the Mavericks, who tallied 352 total yards.
David Morrison threw for 322 yards and one touchdown and ran for another score, leading F.W. Concordia Lutheran to a 17-14 win over F.W. Bishop Luers. Jake Minich caught 11 passes for 146 yards and one score for the Cadets. Noah Wezensky had 184 yards passing and one touchdown, and Austin Mack added three catches for 109 yards and one score for the Knights.
Drue Tranquill carried the football six times for 193 yards and four touchdowns and caught a pass for a fifth score, lifting Carroll (FW) to a 55-7 drubbing of Bellmont. Justin Tranquill chipped in 30 rushes for 200 yards, and Chandler Boggs passed for one score and ran for two others for the Chargers.
Logan Ormsby tossed for 124 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 118 yards in Homestead's 68-13 thrashing of DeKalb. Carlos Sanchez ran for two touchdowns and caught a pass for a third score, and Austin Krider hauled in a pass and rushed for scores for the Spartans. Corbin Smith passed for 109 yards and two touchdowns to Greg White for the Barons.
Jaylin Bennett rambled 25 times for 193 yards and three touchdowns, leading Woodlan to 43-0 shutout over Garrett.
Sophomore D'Wayne Eskridge ran 13 times for 181 yards and two touchdowns, helping Bluffton to a 34-12 win against Southern Wells. Malcolm Marshall threw for 125 yards and two scores for the Tigers. Jake Roush tallied two scores for the Raiders.
Kane Johnson's five carries for 135 yards rushing resulted in three touchdowns, leading Churubusco to a 49-0 blanking of West Noble. Hayden Kilgore passed for two scores for the Eagles.
Andrew Hammond completed 4-of-7 passes for 133 yards for two touchdowns and also rushed for a score in Adams Central's 32-22 win over South Adams.
Blake Luker rolled up more than 300 total yards and five touchdowns, leading New Palestine to a 35-14 win over Yorktown in a battle of unbeatens. Luker was 13-of-16 passing for 223 yards and four scores and ran 11 times for 106 yards and another tally. Tyler Walden caught six passes for 115 yards and one score for the Dragons. Riley Neal threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers.
Marcus Drummer led a balanced attack with 124 yards rushing and one score as Monroe Central captured the Harvest Helmet Classic Trophy with a 35-21 win over Wes-Del.
Josh Strauch's two touchdown passes to Sam Nash were not enough as Muncie South suffered a 55-42 loss to F.W. Northrop.
Joe Spegal ran for 178 yards and two touchdowns, helping Delta roll to a 26-7 win over Pendleton Heights. Cade Jones added 160 yards passing and one score for the Eagles.
Lane Young raced for 192 yards and three touchdowns as Shenandoah breezed to a 62-0 win over Knightstown. Chandler Hale and JJ Meyers added two scores apiece for the Raiders.
Kiante Enis rushed for 133 yards and one touchdown in Winchester's 34-7 win against Union City. Dustyn Hangen added 103 yards on the ground and one score and completed 5-of-6 passes for 80 yards and two tallies for the Golden Falcons.
Colton Jobe ran for 83 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 44-yard pass for a third score, leading Tri-West to a 48-20 win over Frankfort. Jake Hendershot passed for 135 yards and one touchdown and ran 12 times for 107 yards and two more tallies for the Bruins. Isaac Rudd threw for 124 yards and one score and ran for another score for the Hot Dogs.
Brandon Dillon raced for four touchdowns as Carroll (Flora) cruised to a 41-6 triumph over Clinton Prairie.
Jacob Earl accumulated 286 yards on the ground, good for five touchdowns, lifting North Vermillion to a 52-16 win over Attica.
Jalen West threw three touchdown passes and ran for a fourth score in North Montgomery's 71-28 pasting of Crawfordsville. Alex Parsons added a pair of catches for scores for the Chargers. Travis Harris tossed two touchdown passes and ran for another tally for the Athenians.
Koby Pierce passed for five touchdowns and added a sixth score on the ground, helpin Fountain Central roll to a 56-13 win against Seeger. Ethan Woodrow added three touchdown receptions, and Jared Fishero ran and caught a pass for scores for the Mustangs.
Blake Justice was 8-of-8 through the air for 136 yards and rushed seven times for 136 yards and two touchdowns in Tri-County's 54-9 drubbing of South Newton. Trenton Kyburz and Brenden Kidd added two scores each for the Cavaliers.
Michael Griffin and Cameron Bennington combined for more than 200 yards rushing and three scores, leading Twin Lakes to a 42-12 win against Benton Central. Griffin had 12 carries for 125 yards and one score, while Bennington added 87 yards and two tallies.
Garrett Johnson rambled 37 times for 187 yards and two touchdowns in Delphi's 12-6 win over Hammond Gavit. Trevor Cox added two interceptions for the Oracles.
Josh Hinkle passed for 112 yards and one touchdown to go along with 106 yards rushing and two scores as Zionsville scored two touchdowns in 11 seconds on its way to a 35-13 win over Harrison (Lafayette).
Toks Akinribade ran 22 times for 121 yards and two touchdowns, helping Brownsburg to a 28-0 blanking of Lafayette Jeff.
Mitch Witteveen's 67-yard punt return lifted Lafayette Central Catholic to a 14-7 win over Tipton. Ty Preston added 201 yards passing and one score, and freshman Ben Tharp had nine receptions for 109 yards for the Knights.
Brandon Watt scored two touchdowns, including a school-record 99-yard kickoff return, leading West Lafayette to a 20-14 win over Rensselaer Central. Watt also hauled in a 79-yard scoring pass from Parker Rochetto to go along with an interception. Rochetto threw for 205 yards and ran for 41 yards, while Maurice Woodard added 132 yards on the ground for the Red Devils.
Tristian Anderson threw a pair of touchdown passes to Leo Harris, helping Anderson Prep Academy to a 50-0 blanking of Traders Point Christian. Anderson finished with 142 yards passing and Harris added six catches for 125 yards. D'Andre Patterson had two carries for 87 yards and two scores for the Jets.
Tyler Welch ran the ball 17 times for 235 yards and five touchdowns, lifting Anderson to a 49-7 win over New Castle. Jerian Beard added 11 rushes for 99 yards and one score for the Indians before leaving with an ankle injury in the second quarter.
Blaize Kelly threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns in Alexandria's 48-14 pasting of Frankton. Drew Johnson hauled in seven passes for 112 yards and one score, and Evan Hodges rushed for 146 yards and two tallies for the Tigers.
Bobby Haines rushed for 231 yards and three touchdowns as Silver Creek rolled to a 53-22 win against Clarksville. Jake Meadors threw for 133 yards and two scores and ran for a third tally, and Austin Hastings added two touchdowns, including a 68-yard kickoff return, for the Dragons. Marquise Parrish had 23 rushes for 115 yards and one touchdown for the Generals.
Tuwan Payton showed why he is the state's leading rusher by running 36 times for 327 yards and two touchdowns in New Albany's 35-7 win over Madison. Zach Donan added two scores for the Bulldogs.
Darren Taylor passed for 67 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 85 yards and another score, lifting Charlestown to a 35-0 win against Salem.
Sam Best ran for 195 yards and three touchdowns in North Harrison's 34-7 win over Eastern. Austin Nevil chipped in 104 yards rushing and a score for the Cougars.
Making his first start at quarterback, Owen Mattingly ran for 192 yards and three touchdowns, leading Providence to a 35-13 upset of Jeffersonville. Matt Bell chipped in 125 yards rushing and one score for the Pioneers.
Alec Pettit scored three touchdowns, including a 23-yard fumble recovery, helping Greencastle cruise to a 42-7 win over North Putnam. Tyler Scott added 186 yard through the air and one score for the Tiger Cubs.
Wes Riner had a pair of scores, including a 51-yard interception return, in South Putnam's 40-0 blanking of Cloverdale. Lucas Lorian had 15 rushes for 154 yards and one touchdown, and Sawyer Arnold added five carries for 100 yards and a score for the Eagles.
Grant Weatherford returned two punts (57 and 60 yards) for touchdowns and caught an eight-yard pass for another tally as Hamilton Heights rolled to a 64-7 win against Taylor. Conner Faulkner and Jesse Kerfoot each scored two touchdowns for the Huskies.
Gabe Welch raced for 262 yards and four touchdowns, leading Lewis Cass to a 61-29 win over Eastern (Greentown). Austin Bates threw for 261 yards and two scores and ran for 101 yards, and Cree Johnson added seven catches for 133 yards and two scores for Eastern.
Christian Glenn rushed nine times for 117 yards and three touchdowns in Western's 52-27 win over Peru. Min Park added 112 yards on the ground and one score, Drew Bellus threw for two scores, and Ben Lenahan ran for two touchdowns for the Panthers. Michael Richardson found the end zone twice for the Bengal Tigers.
Marcus Record recorded 113 yards rushing and two touchdowns as Logansport earned its first shutout since 2010 with a 19-0 win over Muncie Central.
Luke Diener ran for two scores and passed for a third, leading North White to a 34-12 win over Caston.
Justin Mersch carried the football 20 times for 221 yards and three touchdowns in Pioneer's 47-13 win against Frontier. Sam Kiser added 127 yards rushing and one score for the Panthers. Brandon Gallinger ran for 127 yards and one touchdown for the Falcons.
Jordan Christian passed for 298 yards and four touchdowns, lifting Richmond to a 37-20 win over Kokomo. Matt Morrow had seven receptions for 143 yards and two scores to help the Red Devils to their 12th straight North Central Conference win. Bo Baker had 17 rushes for 147 yards and one score for the Wildkats.
Bryce Robinson ran 23 times for 145 yards and four touchdowns and also returned a fumble 65 yards for another tally, leading Centerville to a 34-22 win over Northeastern. Kelsy Kirkland paced Northeastern with 20 rushes for 136 yards and two touchdowns.
Mitch Snyder rambled 16 times for 229 yards and three touchdowns in Union County's 37-7 win over Cambridge City Lincoln. Snyder also had a pair of interceptions for the Patriots. Ben Singer passed for 196 yards and one score, and Cody Taylor caught five passes for 120 yards for the Golden Eagles.
Tanner Skeels passed for 135 yards and a touchdown and ran for 113 yards and another score, lifting Greenwood to a 27-14 win over Guerin Catholic. John Gallman added 134 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and Keigan Cravens had eight receptions for 108 yards and one score for the Woodmen. Michael Myers tossed for 160 yards and one touchdown and ran for a second tally for Guerin.
