INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts today elevated running back Jonathan Williams to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.
Williams, 6-0, 223 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on October 2. He has played in 14 career games with the New Orleans Saints (2017-18), Denver Broncos (2017) and Buffalo Bills (2016). Williams has totaled 30 carries for 94 yards and one touchdown in addition to two receptions. He was originally selected by the Bills in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.
In 2018, Williams played in three games for the Saints and registered three rushes and one reception. He spent the majority of the 2017 campaign on the Denver Broncos practice squad before being signed to the New Orleans active roster on November 14. As a rookie in 2016, Williams registered 27 carries for 94 yards and one touchdown with Buffalo.
