Clarksville saw its 46-game losing streak come to an end with a 54-18 victory over Eastern (Pekin). It was the Generals' first win since a 26-17 decision over Salem on September 26, 2014. It also marked the first triumph for second-year coach Justin Boser and snapped a 34-game Mid-Southern Conference losing skid.
With his 218 yards rushing in New Palestine's 28-9 victory over Center Grove, Charlie Spegal became the second player in IHSAA football history to rush for 8,000 career yards. He now has 8,098 yards and needs just 12 yards to tie Elwood's Sammy Mireles as the state's career rushing leader. His three touchdowns now give him 125 scores on the ground for his career.
Defending Class 2A state champion Western Boone saw its 16-game winning streak end with a 42-41 setback to Western. Coooper Jarvis hauled in the game-tying six-yard touchdown pass with six seconds left and Skylar Zavala's extra-point was the difference for the Panthers.
Reece Thomas' blacked extra-point preserved Fort Wayne Snider's 21-20 victory over Carroll (Fort Wayne).
Class 6A state champ Warren Central's 15-game winning streak was snapped with its 17-14 setback to Louisville Trinity (Kentucky).
Fairfield had its 19-game losing streak end with 22-18 triumph over Osceola Grace.
Cambridge City Lincoln's 16-game skid and 20-game Tri-Eastern Conference streak ended with a 19-14 win over Union County.
With his 32 carries for 285 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-3 win at Goshen, Elkhart Central's Mark Brownlee became the all-time leading rusher in Elkhart football history with 3,469 career yards.
In addition to breaking the school record with 46 completions in a 74-66 loss to Lafayette Jeff, West Lafayette's Kyle Adams established a new single game mark with 571 yards passing, breaking the previous record of 563 yards in 2003 by former Lafayette Jeff quarterback Mike Vlahogeorge, according to the Indiana Football Coaches Association record book.
