INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said today that defensive tackle Carl Davis is the only Colts player that has been ruled out of Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Denver Broncos at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Five other players — wide receiver Parris Campbell, cornerback Pierre Desir, tight end Jack Doyle, defensive tackle/end Tyquan Lewis and cornerback Kenny Moore II — are labeled as questionable.

RULED OUT:

» Davis suffered a hamstring injury midway through the fourth quarter of last Sunday's Week 7 win over the Houston Texans, and didn't return; he also did not participate in the first two days of practice this week. Signed by the Colts as a free agent Oct. 14, Davis last week was taking part in his first game in Indy, and had played seven defensive snaps before suffering his injury. Depending on the status of defensive end/tackle Tyquan Lewis, those in line to possibly see added time at defensive tackle in Davis' absence include Margus Hunt and Trevon Coley, who was signed off the Ravens' practice squad Oct. 1 and is yet to log any snaps in the Colts' two games since.

QUESTIONABLE:

» Campbell has missed two straight games after suffering an abdominal injury Week 4 against the Oakland Raiders. The 2019 second-round pick out of Ohio State underwent a minor procedure on Oct. 4, according to Reich, but was able to make his return to practice this week; he was a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday. With Campbell out, the team has seen Zach Pascal, Chester Rogers and Deon Cain get added snaps behind starter T.Y. Hilton, while Pascal has filled in Campbell's role as kickoff returner.

» Desir suffered a hamstring injury in the Colts' Week 5 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, and has been listed on the team's injury report since. He did not practice last week as the team prepared for their Week 7 game against the Houston Texans, but was able to play, logging seven tackles and two passes defensed, as well as his first interception of the season. Depending on the status of fellow starting cornerback Kenny Moore II, Desir, who did not practice Wednesday and was limited on Thursday, could be spelled by a mix of players if he's limited or can't play this Sunday, including Rock Ya-Sin, Quincy Wilson, Marvell Tell III or Shakial Taylor.

» Doyle (groin) first appeared on the injury report this week on Friday. The seventh-year tight end this season is third on the team in receptions (17), fourth in receiving yards (149) and also has a receiving touchdown on the year. If Doyle is limited or can't play Sunday, look for Eric Ebron and Mo Alie-Cox to get added snaps at tight end; the team also has tight end Ian Bunting on its practice report if needed.

» Lewis suffered an ankle injury during the second quarter of the Colts' Week 3 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons; he was able to return to practice for the first time Wednesday, and was a limited participant in the team's first two practices this week to prepare for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Lewis this season has appeared in two games and has one tackle; he had 13 tackles (three for a loss) with two sacks, eight quarterback hits and one pass defensed in eight games as a rookie last season. Other options along the defensive line for the Colts should Lewis be limited or out include Grover Stewart, Margus Hunt and Trevon Coley.

» Moore II suffered a knee injury in the first quarter of the Colts' Week 5 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, but eventually returned to register four tackles (one for a loss) with one sack and one quarterback hit in Indy's 19-13 road win. But Moore II wasn't able to return to practice last week following the Colts' bye week, and he was ruled out for the team's Week 7 home win over the Houston Texans. He was spelled in that game by a mixture of players, including Shakial Taylor and Quincy Wilson, and even safety Rolan Milligan got some snaps at the nickel cornerback position.
