He was named Honorable Mention All-Freshman Team by Big Ten Network.

Attended Cranford (N.J.) High School and played on both the offensive line and defensive line.
As a senior, he was a team captain at right guard and defensive lineman and helped lead the team to an undefeated season and a state championship.
Rated a four-star prospect by Rivals.
Also lettered on the track and field team in the shot put and lettered one year in basketball.
Invite to the 2021 East-West Shrine Bowl and the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, but both events were canceled due to COVID.
