Biography

2024 (VIKINGS/GIANTS):

  • Started all 10 games he saw action in with the Giants and completed 216-of-341 passes for 2,070 yards and eight touchdowns with seven interceptions. Added 67 carries for 265 yards and two touchdowns. Also spent time on Minnesota's practice squad and was active for their postseason contest.

2023 (GIANTS):

  • Started all six games he appeared in and completed 108-of-160 passes for 909 yards and two touchdowns with six interceptions. Also compiled 206 rushing yards and one touchdown on 40 carries. He was placed on the Injured Reserve list on November 8.

2022 (GIANTS):

  • Started all 16 games he appeared in and completed 317-of-472 passes for 3,205 yards and 15 touchdowns with five interceptions. He set single-season career highs in completions, passing yards and passer rating (92.5). On the ground, he had season-single career highs in carries (120), rushing yards (708) and touchdowns (seven). His 708 rushing yards are the most by a Giants quarterback in single-season history. In Week 7 at Jacksonville, he earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors after he completed 19-of-30 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown. He also added 11 carries for 107 yards and one touchdown.
  • He started two postseason contests and completed 39-of-62 passes for 436 yards and two touchdowns with one interception and also registered 23 carries for 102 yards.

2021 (GIANTS):

  • Started all 11 games he saw action in and completed 232-of-361 passes for 2,428 yards and 10 touchdowns with seven interceptions. Added 298 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 62 carries. Garnered NFC Offensive Player of the Week accolades in a Week 4 overtime win at New Orleans after he completed 28-of-40 passes for 402 yards and two touchdowns with one interception for a 108.5 passer rating.

2020 (GIANTS):

  • Started all 14 games he competed in and completed 280-of-448 passes for 2,943 yards and 11 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. Compiled 65 carries for 423 yards and one touchdown. He became the first quarterback in Giants history to reach 2,500 passing yards and 400 rushing yards in a single season.

2019 (GIANTS):

  • Appeared in 13 games (12 starts) and completed 284-of-459 passes for 3,027 yards and a single-season career-high 24 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. Added 279 yards and two touchdowns on 45 carries. He earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors in Week 3 at Tampa Bay after he completed 23-of-36 passes for 336 yards and two touchdowns and added four carries for 28 yards and two touchdowns.
  • He began his career with at least one touchdown pass in each of his first 13 NFL starts, which was the fourth-longest streak among quarterbacks who started their careers since the 1970 merger.
  • His 24 touchdowns led all rookie quarterbacks.

COLLEGE:

  • Started all 36 games he saw action in at Duke (2016-18) and completed 764-of-1,275 passes for 8,201 yards and 52 touchdowns with 29 interceptions. He also added 1,323 yards on 406 carries with 17 touchdowns. Jones tallied two receptions for six yards and also punted five times for 170 yards (34.0 avg.). He was a two-time team captain (2017-18), Carmen Falcone Award recipient as Duke's Most Valuable Player (2016, 2018) and a three-time All-ACC Academic selection (2016-18).
  • As a team captain in 2018, he started all 11 games he competed in and completed 237-of-392 passes for 2,674 yards and 22 touchdowns with nine interceptions. He also compiled 104 carries for 319 yards. He tallied five games with at least three passing touchdowns.
  • As a sophomore, he started 13 games and completed 257-of-453 passes for 2,691 yards and 14 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. He also added 161 carries for 518 yards and seven touchdowns. He was one of six quarterbacks in the Power Five conferences to eclipse 2,500 passing yards and 500 rushing yards. Jones was voted a team captain.
  • In 2016, he started all 12 games and completed 270-of-430 passes for 2,836 yards and 16 touchdowns with nine interceptions. He also compiled 141 carries for 486 yards and seven touchdowns.

PERSONAL:

  • Attended Charlotte (N.C.) Latin High School.
  • Helped the team reach two state championships and was named a team captain his last two seasons.
  • Set school career records for total offensive yards (8,344), passing yards (6,997) and total touchdowns (98).
  • As a senior, he completed 151-of-268 passes for 2,949 yards and 43 touchdowns and also added 778 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 109 carries. He earned first team all-state accolades after he set single-season school records in total yards (3,727), passing yards and passing touchdowns.
  • In 2013, he earned second team all-state honors after he completed 158-of-290 passes for 2,398 yards and 27 touchdowns.
  • Also lettered in basketball.
  • Named the 2019 Reese's Senior Bowl MVP.

  • His brother, Bates, played basketball at Davidson and Duke.
  • His sister, Becca, played field hockey at Davidson and his other sister, Ruthie, is a goalkeeper for Duke's women's soccer team.
