INDIANAPOLIS –A rare occurrence will take place in Canton, Ohio this weekend.

Morten Andersen will become the second full-time kicker in NFL history to don a gold jacket, as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The resume that earned Andersen enshrinement comes with two of the most impressive records in league history.

No one has scored more points than Andersen.

No one has made more field goals than Andersen.

But that could change very soon.

Adam Vinatieri is about two full seasons away from calling those records his own, while further padding his own Hall of Fame credentials

"It remains to be seen whether (Vinatieri) breaks my records," Andersen said ahead of his induction into Canton.

"If he does, he needs to be congratulated. It's a high mark, a high bar. Records are meant to be broken. I've held many of them for over a decade now, so I won't lose any sleep over of it."

Vinatieri is embarking on his 22nd NFL season, a few months prior to his 45th birthday.

Debating whether or not Vinatieri will eventually join Andersen in the Hall is rather silly.

One could probably have an argument if Vinny is worthy enough to garner first-ballot consideration from the voters.

"Adam has had a great career," Andersen says. "If you look at all of his body of work, he struggled in the beginning, found his way and made huge kicks in the playoffs and Super Bowl.

"I have nothing but admiration for Adam and what he's been able to do over a long period of time."**
