INDIANAPOLIS --- The 2015 schedules for each NFL team may not be coming out until April, but we do know the home and road opponents for the Colts and the other 31 franchises for next season. That means we also know which teams will have the easiest and toughest strength of schedule in 2015, based on the combined records of their opponents in 2014, as NFL.com's Gil Brandt points out:
To recap, here are the Colts 2015 Home Opponents:
Patriots (12-4)*
Broncos (12-4)*
Texans (9-7)
Saints (7-9)
Jets (4-12)
Jaguars (3-13)
Titans (2-14)
Buccaneers (2-14)
---
Combined Home Schedule: 51-77 (.398)
Colts 2015 Road Opponents:
Steelers (11-5)*
Bills (9-7)
Texans (9-7)
Dolphins (8-8)
Panthers (7-8-1)*
Falcons (6-10)
Jaguars (3-13)
Titans (2-14)
---
Combined Road Schedule: 55-72-1 (.433)
On paper, it appears the Colts will have a pretty easy schedule. However, the fortunes of NFL teams can change very quickly, as it did in Indianapolis from 2011 to 2012. It's fun to look at in the offseason but should be taken with a grain of salt. The draft and free agency could definitely change the outlook of some of the Colts 2015 opponents.
