The MIP Tour travels north to Ft. Wayne

The Allen County Fair had a new neighbor on Thursday when the Colts MIP Tour rolled into town.

Members of the Ft. Wayne community filled the fair with Colts Blue as they turned out in throngs to get player and cheerleader autographs, enjoy the Colts In Motion traveling museum and take in all that the sponsors had to offer.

Excitement in the line that stretched around the parking lot grew as offensive guards Mike Pollak and Kyle DeVan stepped out of the limos and onto the stage. Pollak started the first seven games at right guard and DeVan filled that spot for the final nine.

"This is awesome," Pollak, an Arizona native, said. "It is so cool to see the support that the team has outside Indianapolis and I really enjoy just coming and interacting with these fans. There are just so many Colts fans everywhere and it is always a great experience to meet them."

Coming over to the tour from her job at the hospital, decked out in her Colts scrubs, earrings and shoes was Laura. She was ecstatic to meet Pollak and DeVan. She also got autographs from Colts Cheerleaders Megann, Nicole T., Marissa and Sara who were on hand to meet the fans.

Laura hasn't always been a Colts fan, or a sports fan for that matter, but that doesn't mean she doesn't bleed blue now.

"I turned on the T.V. a few years ago and didn't watch any sports at that time," she said. "I saw Peyton Manning throw a pass to Marvin Harrison and I sat down and went wow. Then I watched the rest of the game. I started watching more and more and now my heart is palpitating when it's third and long."

"I think I'm maybe just a little too much of a fan. I just love the Colts."

Laura has even grown the fan base. The hospital she works in now carries Colts stuff and she is working on converting everyone she knows.

"I think Ft. Wayne is a Colts town," Laura said. "Now there are some Bears fans, but I'd say it's a 75/25 split and we're growing."

The Colts can never have enough fans like Laura. Not only is she growing the fan base but the team has never lost when she's in attendance.

Laura and the other fanatics in attendance took in the two hour event that included a special appearance from Air Blue, straight from Inflatable Stables.

On Tuesday, June 29, the tour returns with a trip the the Shelby Co. Fair.
