HOT OFF THE PRESS

Lafayette Central Catholic coach Kevin O'Shea celebrated his 200th career win with the Knights' 31-14 triumph over Pioneer for a Class 1A regional crown. It was also O'Shea's 100th win at LCC. He is now 200-72 over 23 seasons.

Penn and Center Grove earned spots in the Class 6A state title game with semistate victories. The Kingsmen downed two-time defending state runner-up Carmel, 16-0, in the North, while the Trojans used a two-point conversion in the second overtime to edge Avon, 35-34.

Kokomo celebrated its first regional championship with 21-19 win over Westfield in Class 5A action.

A week after earning their first sectional titles, Indianapolis Howe and Northfield added a regional crown to their resumes. The Hornets cruised past Indianapolis Scecina, 26-7, in Class 2A, while the Norsemen were a 21-13 winner over Adams Central in Class 1A.

After 40 years on the sidelines at Pendleton Heights, John Broughton has decided to retire. His final mark with the Arabians was 226-186, including a 5-7 mark this past season.

Lance Scheib ended his eight-year stay at Noblesville with a 30-52 record, including a 3-7 mark this fall.

Brad Stewart's five-year run at Kankakee Valley has come to an end with his resignation. He was 24-27 with the Kougars, including a 4-6 record in 2015.

Craig Redman has stepped down after five seasons at South Bend Adams. The Eagles were 26-28 under Redman, including an 8-4 campaign this fall.

Eric Heiney is done after two seasons at Prairie Heights in which he was 0-10 this past season and 1-19 overall.

James Byers has resigned after two campaigns at Seeger where he posted a 2-8 record in 2015 and 3-17 overall.
