T.Y. Hilton Tops All Receivers As AFC Earns Comeback Pro Bowl Victory

The Indianapolis Colts were well-represented in Sunday’s NFL Pro Bowl, as wide receiver T.Y. Hilton led all players in receiving, while tight end Jack Doyle added a couple catches in the AFC squad’s 24-23 victory.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr found Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker for an 18-yard go-ahead touchdown pass with 1:39 left in the fourth quarter, as the AFC squad fought back from a 17-point halftime deficit to top the NFC, 24-23, in Sunday's Pro Bowl game at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.

The AFC team, which ended the game on a 21-3 run, has now won its last two Pro Bowl matchups against its NFC counterparts.

The Indianapolis Colts were well represented in Sunday's game, as wide receiver T.Y. Hilton led all players with 98 receiving yards on four total catches with five targets. Tight end Jack Doyle, meanwhile, caught both targets that came his way for 17 yards.

Staying true to his reputation as one of the top deep threats in the league, Hilton had two of the game's longest plays on the afternoon, which at times featured a driving rainstorm in Central Florida. He hauled in a 44-yard reception from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith in the third quarter — one in which he made an impressive move to split multiple NFC defenders to sprint down the sideline — and another one later in the period where he bullied Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson on a jumpball for a 39-yard catch from Carr:

In all, Hilton — appearing in his fourth straight Pro Bowl — had catches of 44, six, 39, and nine yards, the last of which set up the eventual game-winning touchdown pass to Walker from the NFC 18-yard line.

Doyle, meanwhile, caught two first-quarter passes from starting quarterback Ben Roethelisberger, who connected with the first-time Pro Bowler on plays of seven and 10 yards, respectively. That 10-yard reception came on a gadget flea-flicker play:
