INDIANAPOLIS – To celebrate the holiday season, the Colts and Meijer joined with Penske Race Team to offer 40 under-served youth the opportunity to shop for the holidays with some Indianapolis sports celebrities on December 6. The group consisted of students from Noble Crossing Elementary School and youth from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, a mentoring program that matches youth with mentors in Indianapolis. The event, hosted by the Noblesville Meijer store, included a pizza party, compliments of Papa John's Pizza, as well as a special holiday shopping experience for each child.

Following the pizza party, Colts players Melvin Bullitt, Pierre Garcon, and Robert Mathis, as well as Penske drivers Ryan Briscoe, Helio Castroneves, and Ryan Power greeted the youth and assisted them with their shopping spree. Both the youth and the celebrities had smiles on their faces as they found new clothes, shoes, toys and any other items on their holiday wish list. Each child was provided with a $200 Meijer gift card, compliments of Meijer, to purchase their items, as well as an additional $20 to select a toy to donate to another child in need through the Toys for Tots program.

This was the third year the Colts and Meijer have teamed up for the "Shop with a Colt" event. Meijer is the Official Supercenter of the Indianapolis Colts and has supported several Colts outreach projects this year, including the SACKing Hunger Food Drive, Thanksgiving Shopping Trip and the Hoosiers Helping Hoosiers at Thanksgiving event.
