Quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) was listed as inactive for the Colts' Week 6 game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, marking the second game in a row the Colts QB1 did not play.
Richardson was also inactive for the Colts' Week 5 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after he was injured in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"We went through the week with Anthony, seeing how he was feeling, and obviously just wasn't there yet," head coach Shane Steichen said postgame. "So we went with Joe (Flacco) today."
Richardson was designated as the Colts' emergency third quarterback on Sunday, meaning he could have entered the game if the two active quarterbacks on the Colts' active gameday roster (Joe Flacco and Sam Ehlinger) were injured or disqualified. Steichen said that decision was made late in the week.
Richardson was a limited participant in the Colts' Wednesday and Friday practices, and was a full participant in the Thursday practice leading up to Sunday's game against the Titans. Richardson was listed as questionable on Friday's final practice report of the week, and Steichen said he would be a game time decision come Sunday.
Steichen said Richardson did work out prior to Sunday's game.
Flacco, in his second straight start for the Colts, led the team to a 20-17 win over the Titans for their first AFC South win of the season. Flacco completed 22 of 38 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns.
