INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts today signed tight end Je'Ron Hamm and defensive end Anthony Winbush to the practice squad and released quarterback Phillip Walker from the practice squad.
Hamm, 6-3, 236 pounds, participated in training camp with the Los Angeles Chargers before being waived during final cuts on September 1. He was claimed by the Chargers off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks on August 13, 2018 after spending part of training camp with the Seahawks. In 2016, Hamm spent time on the San Francisco 49ers' active roster and practice squad. He played in five games and caught two passes for 13 yards. Hamm spent time on the Washington Redskins' active roster and practice squad in 2015 but did not see game action. He finished the 2015 season with the 49ers. As a rookie in 2014, Hamm spent time on the Washington Redskins' active roster and practice squad and saw action in one game. He originally signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2014.
Winbush, 6-1, 240 pounds, has had one prior stint on the Colts practice squad this season. He participated in the Atlanta Falcons' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. Winbush originally signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2018. Collegiately, he played in 45 career games (23 starts) at Ball State and totaled 99 tackles (56 solo), 32.5 tackles for loss, 25.0 sacks, one pass defensed, nine forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Walker, 5-11, 216 pounds, has had multiple stints on Indianapolis' practice squad this season. He participated in the team's 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. Walker signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on January 1, 2018. He spent the entire 2017 season on Indianapolis' practice squad. Walker was originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2017.
