INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts today signed tackle Will Holden to the practice squad and released running back Jeremy McNichols from the practice squad.
Holden, 6-7, 312 pounds, participated in the Arizona Cardinals' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. As a rookie in 2017, he appeared in seven games (five starts) for the Cardinals. Holden earned starts at tight end (one), left guard (one) and left tackle (three). He was originally selected by Arizona in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. Collegiately, Holden played in 48 games at Vanderbilt at guard and both tackle spots. He started the final 37 contests of his career at tackle.
McNichols, 5-9, 205 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on September 3. He participated in the San Francisco 49ers' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. As a rookie in 2017, McNichols spent time on the 49ers' active roster and practice squad. He saw action in two games and tallied one special teams tackle. McNichols was originally selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth round (162nd overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
