INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts today signed running back Jeremy McNichols to the practice squad and released quarterback Phillip Walker from the practice squad.
McNichols, 5-9, 205 pounds, re-joins the Colts practice squad after being released on September 13. He was originally signed to the team's practice squad on September 3. McNichols participated in the San Francisco 49ers' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. As a rookie in 2017, he spent time on the 49ers' active roster and practice squad. McNichols saw action in two games and tallied one special teams tackle. He was originally selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth round (162nd overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Walker, 5-11, 216 pounds, was signed to Indianapolis' practice squad on September 2. He participated in the team's 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. Walker signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on January 1, 2018. He spent the entire 2017 season on Indianapolis' practice squad. Walker was originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2017.
