INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts today elevated wide receiver Daurice Fountain to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and waived tight end Clive Walford. The team also signed quarterback Phillip Walker to the practice squad.
Fountain, 6-2, 210 pounds, has spent the entire season on the Colts practice squad. He participated in the team's 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. Fountain was selected by Indianapolis in the fifth round (159th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Collegiately, he saw action in 52 games (37 starts) at Northern Iowa and totaled 150 receptions for 2,077 yards and 23 touchdowns. Fountain finished his Panther career as just the sixth player in UNI history to rank in the top 10 in receptions (fourth), receiving yards (ninth) and touchdowns (sixth).
Walford, 6-4, 250 pounds, was signed by Indianapolis as a free agent on November 28. He was inactive for Week 13 at Jacksonville. Walford played in 44 career games (10 starts) in three seasons (2015-17) with the Oakland Raiders and compiled 70 receptions for 768 yards and six touchdowns. He also started one postseason contest and caught two passes for 16 yards. Walford was originally selected by the Raiders in the third round (68th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Walker, 5-11, 216 pounds, has spent a majority of the season on the Colts practice squad. He participated in the team's 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived on September 1. Walker signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on January 1, 2018. He spent the entire 2017 season on Indianapolis' practice squad. Walker was originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2017.
