Roster Moves: Colts Claim CB Arthur Maulet Off Waivers; Release RB Christine Michael

The Indianapolis Colts today claimed cornerback Arthur Maulet off waivers from the New Orleans Saints, and released running back Christine Michael.

INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts today claimed cornerback Arthur Maulet off waivers (from New Orleans) and released running back Christine Michael. The team also signed tackle Rees Odhiambo and cornerback Lenzy Pipkins to the practice squad and released tackle Will Holden and cornerback Tarvarus McFadden from the practice squad.

Maulet, 5-10, 190 pounds, played in seven games over the last two seasons (2017-18) with the Saints and made one special teams tackle. He also saw action in two postseason contests. In 2018, Maulet appeared in one game. As a rookie in 2017, he spent time on New Orleans' active roster and practice squad and tallied one special teams stop. Maulet was originally signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2017.

Collegiately, Maulet started 21-of-26 games at Memphis and totaled 111 tackles (92 solo), 4.5 sacks, 20 passes defensed, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He transferred to Memphis after two seasons (2013-14) at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

Michael, 5-10, 220 pounds, played in two games for the Colts this season and registered two carries for nine yards. He has played in 39 career games (nine starts) in his time with the Colts (2017-18), Green Bay Packers (2016), Seattle Seahawks (2013-16) and Dallas Cowboys (2015). Michael has carried the ball 256 times for 1,089 yards and seven touchdowns. He has also caught 26 passes for 135 yards and one touchdown.

Odhiambo, 6-4, 315 pounds, played in 15 career games (seven starts) in his time with the Seattle Seahawks (2016-17). He also appeared in one postseason contest. Odhiambo participated in the Seahawks' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived on September 2. He was originally selected by Seattle in the third round (97th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. Collegiately, Odhiambo started 25-of-32 career games at Boise State.

Pipkins, 6-0, 196 pounds, has spent time on the Colts' active roster and practice squad this season. He was originally acquired by the team via trade with the Green Bay Packers on August 26, 2018 before being waived during final cuts on September 1. As a rookie in 2017, Pipkins played in 12 games (one start) for the Packers and registered 17 tackles (13 solo), 1.0 tackle for loss, one pass defensed and one special teams stop. He was originally signed by Green Bay as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2017.

Holden, 6-7, 312 pounds, was signed to the Indianapolis practice squad on September 13. He participated in the Arizona Cardinals' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. As a rookie in 2017, Holden appeared in seven games (five starts) for the Cardinals. He earned starts at tight end (one), left guard (one) and left tackle (three). Holden was originally selected by Arizona in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

McFadden, 6-2, 205 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on September 11. He participated in the San Francisco 49ers' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. McFadden originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2018. Collegiately, he started 26-of-33 career games at Florida State and compiled 54 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 16 passes defensed and eight interceptions.
