INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts today elevated tight end Erik Swoope to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and waived cornerback Lenzy Pipkins. The team also signed quarterback Phillip Walker to the practice squad.
Swoope, 6-4, 255 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on September 14. He played in the team's Week 1 contest vs. Cincinnati and caught one pass for 13 yards before being waived on September 13. Swoope was originally signed by Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on March 13, 2014. He has played in 18 games (four starts) with the Colts and has caught 16 passes for 310 yards and one touchdown.
Pipkins, 6-0, 196 pounds, was elevated to the Colts' 53-man roster from the team's practice squad on September 11 but did not see game action in Week 2 at Washington. He was signed to Indianapolis' practice squad on September 4. Pipkins was originally acquired by the team via trade with the Green Bay Packers on August 26, 2018 before being waived during final cuts on September 1. As a rookie in 2017, he played in 12 games (one start) for the Packers and registered 17 tackles (13 solo), 1.0 tackle for loss, one pass defensed and one special teams stop. Pipkins was originally signed by Green Bay as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2017.
Walker, 5-11, 216 pounds, was signed to Indianapolis' practice squad on September 2 before being released on September 18. He participated in the team's 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. Walker signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on January 1, 2018. He spent the entire 2017 season on Indianapolis' practice squad. Walker was originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2017.
