INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts today signed safety Rolan Milligan to the practice squad and released linebacker Tegray Scales from the practice squad.
Milligan, 5-10, 200 pounds, has spent time on the Colts' active roster and practice squad this season. He also spent time on the Detroit Lions practice squad earlier this season. Milligan participated in the Lions' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 1. In 2017, he spent time on Detroit's active roster and practice squad but did not see game action. Milligan participated in the Dallas Cowboys' 2016 offseason program and training camp before being waived on August 16, 2016. He was originally signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2016.
Scales, 6-0, 227 pounds, was signed to the Indianapolis' practice squad on December 18. He participated in the Los Angeles Rams' 2018 offseason program and training camp before being waived on August 31. Scales originally signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2018. He participated in the Colts' 2018 local pro day. Collegiately, Scales saw action in 48 games (26 starts) at Indiana and compiled 325 tackles (218 solo), 46.0 tackles for loss, 18.0 sacks, eight interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 16 passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
