Colts Host Design Day for Playground at Eliza Blaker
Elementary School
INDIANAPOLIS – This past Monday, July 27, the Indianapolis Colts, Lucas Oil Products, National Starch and KaBOOM! announced that they will be teaming up to build a Colts-themed playground at Eliza Blaker Elementary School in Indianapolis, Ind. To kick off the project, they hosted a Design Day at Eliza Blaker Elementary School to begin the planning process for the new playground. This is the second year the Colts have teamed up with KaBOOM! to provide the children of Indianapolis with a safe and exciting place to play.**

During the Playground Design Day, the KaBOOM! Design Team provided paper and crayons for students to draw what they wanted to see on their playground. The sky was the limit for the imaginations of these children. After the young designers finished their "blueprints," their ideas were presented to the planning committee. The Colts mascot, Blue, was also on hand to provide his input on the playground and interact with the kids.
Design Day was the first of many meetings to prepare and plan for the construction of the new playground. Following the festivities, several teachers, volunteers and parents sat down to talk about the playground ideas the children generated and used them to shape the design of the playspace.
On September 29, more than 250 volunteers from the Colts, Lucas Oil, National Starch and the community will be on hand to construct the new playground at Eliza Blaker Elementary, along with Colts players and cheerleaders.
This playground build is part of the Colts continued efforts to promote health and fitness among youth through the NFL's PLAY 60 initiative. To learn more about PLAY 60, click here.
