MIP Tour heads south to Bedford

The MIP Tour took to the road once more before the holiday weekend when it headed to Bedford on June 30.

Joining the tour to meet fans and sign autographs were guards Jamie Thomas and Kyle DeVan. Thomas, a native of Harrisburg, Pa., was a two-year starter at Maryland. DeVan, who started the final nine games last season at right guard, started 38 games at Oregon State.

"It's exciting to come to this school and see everyone lined up and as excited to be here as we are," DeVan said. "It's always nice to get out of Indianapolis and meet the fans around the state."

DeVan has been on multiple MIP Tour stops this summer and for good reason; he enjoys meeting the fans.

"I've learned Colts fans are from all over the state and all over the country," he said. "It's nice this time of year to be able to go around and see them."

The line for autographs from DeVan and Thomas and cheerleaders Jessica and Kate wrapped around the football field as fans flooded Bedford in Colts' blue.

One of the fans in line was Benjamin and his wife with their eight children. The couple has one biological child, two adopted children and five foster children.

"It is a little crazy at times, but we definitely enjoy what we do," Benjamin said. "We came out today because the foster kids have never done anything like this and my kids are huge Colts fans along with myself."

Benjamin was born and raised a Colts fan.

"I'm a Colts fan because I live right here in Indiana. I love Peyton Manning and I love watching the team play."

Benjamin and his family took in all that the tour had to offer. Fans were able to walk through the Colts In Motion traveling museum, try their hand at catching an NFL punt from the Jugs machine, enjoy the inflatables and register to win free preseason tickets.

On a beautiful Indiana day thousands of fans turned out to enjoy the festivities. Also making an appearance to greet the fans, straight from inflatable stables, was Air Blue.
