INDIANAPOLIS – The Colts second weekly award of 2015 came on Wednesday morning.
Safety Mike Adams earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for Week Five, thanks to his two-interception night in Houston.
This marks the first time in Adams' 12 NFL seasons that he has earned this award.
Last Thursday in the Colts 27-20 win over the Texans, Adams' two interceptions came in Houston territory, including a fourth-quarter pick that stopped a potential game-tying touchdown drive.
Adams, who now has three interceptions on the season, joins Pat McAfee in the weekly honor award group this year for the Colts. McAfee was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week back in Week Three.
In 2014, Adams led the NFL with a league-high seven takeaways.
The Colts had two defensive players earn weekly honors last year: D'Qwell Jackson (Week 13) and Jonathan Newsome (Week 17).
