Colts Kick Off Fan Fest Events in Logansport
The Fan Fest event included all of the aspects of a Make It Personal stop plus a live performance by Jester Kings, a local Indiana band.
While waiting to meet Colts wide receiver Pierre Garcon, and Colts defensive back Nick Graham, fans listened to the music of Jester Kings. Fans were excited to come to the event, and enjoyed supporting the team they love.
The Indianapolis Colts have a reputation for giving back to the communities that support them, which earns them extremely loyal fans. Andy Hunt of Logansport, Indiana, knows first hand that the Colts players are involved members of the communities that support them.
Hunt is a flag football coach for the kid's league of flag football at the Logansport Church of Christ. He has coached the teams for two years, and is looking forward to continuing his coaching career.
In the past, the flag football league has extended invitations to Colts players inviting them out to watch practices and have a brief autograph and picture session with the kids. Hunt said players have actually come out to watch, and have signed autographs for the kids. Hunt thinks that the time the players spend in the community is well worth it, because it creates true fans.
The only experiences Hunt has had with the Colts are positive ones. Hunt tries to attend at least one game each year, and really enjoys watching the players up close. At one game, Hunt had seats that were five rows back from the field.
"It was great to see the players that close, practicing right in front of us," said Hunt.
Hunt hopes the players will continue their personal interaction with fans in the future. The kids in his flag football league enjoyed meeting the players, and it gave them a sense of pride to have a Colts player come to them.
