INDIANAPOLIS – As expected, Jerrell Freeman will be back with the Colts in 2015.
Freeman signed his qualifying offer on Monday morning, thus remaining in Indianapolis for a fourth straight season.
The former Canadian Football League product was a restricted free agent this offseason.
As one of Ryan Grigson's first signings back in January of 2012, Freeman has been a three-year starter after he was thrust into duty following Pat Angerer's foot injury in the 2012 preseason.
In 2012 and 2013, Freeman led the Colts in tackles. Last season, he battled a hamstring injury in playing 12 games.
With Freeman officially back in the fold, the Colts have some starting competition at the inside linebacker spot this offseason.
Starters D'Qwell Jackson and Freeman are returning, and the group also added Nate Irving this offseason. Irving is rehabbing a torn ACL from last season and his availability isn't likely until Training Camp, at the earliest.
