INDIANAPOLIS —The Indianapolis Colts today signed unrestricted free agent cornerback Kenneth Acker.
Acker, 6-0, 195 pounds, has played in 40 career games (15 starts) and has totaled 98 tackles (87 solo), 12 passes defensed, four interceptions, one fumble recovery and seven special teams stops in his time with the Kansas City Chiefs (2016-17) and San Francisco 49ers (2014-15). He has also seen action in two postseason contests. Acker was originally selected in the sixth round (180th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft out of SMU.
In 2017, Acker appeared in all 16 games (one start) for the first time in his career and recorded 19 tackles (18 solo), one pass defensed, one interception, one fumble recovery and four special teams stops. He also played in one postseason contest. Acker saw action in nine games (one start) in 2016 and compiled 16 solo tackles, three passes defensed and one special teams stop. He also appeared in one postseason contest. Acker was traded to Kansas City from San Francisco on August 27, 2016. In 2015, he played in 15 games (13 starts) and totaled 63 tackles (53 solo), eight passes defensed, three interceptions and two special teams stops. As a rookie in 2014, Acker spent the entire season on the 49ers' Injured Reserve List.
