Indianapolis Colts' host Fan Fest in Louisville

The people of the Derby city flooded Fourth Street Live! with Colts blue for the first Fan Fest of the summer.

The Jai Baker Band rocked the block as fans took in all that Fan Fest had to offer. The Colts in Motion traveling museum, the bounce house and mountain slide, the Colts Pro Shop and several sponsor booths filled the street for everyone to enjoy.

"I'm a diehard Colts fan and anytime I get a chance to come to an event like this I'm going to take advantage of it," Daniel Spencer, a Louisville resident, said.

He also thinks that the Louisville, home to many Colts fans, is quickly becoming a Colts city.

"I have seen many more Colts fans over the past few years with the two Super Bowl appearances and the popularity of players like Peyton Manning," he said.

Offensive Guard Kyle DeVan and Tight End Jacob Tamme were on hand to greet the people of Louisville and sign autographs, as were cheerleaders Erin, Kathleen, Nicole, Stefanie.

During introductions the players were asked some questions by a Colts staff member. In the short onstage interview Tamme revealed that golf is his favorite sport other than football. When asked about his football roots and whether he has played any other positions DeVan, who grew up in Sacramento, Calif., said in high school he once lined up as wide receiver for a play. No, he didn't catch a pass, but it will forever be a fond memory.

A number of the fans waiting in line were decked out in University of Kentucky gear as well as Colts gear because they were on hand to welcome home Tamme, a Danville, Ky native and former Wildcat.

"It is exciting to come back to Kentucky and see all the Colts folks down here supporting me and the entire Colts organization," Tamme, who appeared in all 16 games last season, said.

Louisville native and longtime Colts fan Chris Atkins was one of the many fans in attendance to welcome Tamme home.

"I'm a big UK fan so I've followed Jacob Tamme since he was a Wildcat and always root for him when he is in there for the Colts," Atkins said. "It is good to see him out here. He is always welcome to come back to Kentucky. I know he has a lot of fans here that have turned Colts fans because he is with the team."

The MIP Tour's next stop: another Fan Fest in Evansville, Ind.
