NEWS AND NUGGETS

According to the Indianapolis Star, Danville's formal complaint to the IHSAA regarding its 50-49 overtime loss to Brebeuf Jesuit on October 25 has been ruled to be a "personnel matter which will be kept confidential". The play in question occurred in overtime with Danville leading 49-43 on fourth down play when Brebeuf appeared to be stopped. However, the ball came out as some Danville players entered the field celebrating the end of the game. Officials later ruled this to be an illegal substitution, giving Brebeuf another chance, which they converted and eventually won the game. This came after Brebeuf scored on a 60-yard touchdown play and then converted the two-point conversion on the final play of regulation to send the game into overtime.

Guerin Catholic's Tom Dilley earned his 150th career win with the Golden Eagles' 44-27 decision over Hamilton Heights.

Frankfort will have a new leader in 2025 after James Byers stepped down after going 9-60 in his seven-year stint, including an 0-10 finish with the Hot Dogs this past fall.

Western's Blake Conklin has also resigned after going 0-10 in his campaign with the Panthers.

The pairings for the 52nd annual IHSAA state football tournament can be found on IHSAA.org
