Colts Partner With United Way To Encourage Physical ActivityINDIANAPOLIS – For 35 years, the NFL and United Way have partnered to strengthen communities across America. On Tuesday, October 7, the Colts continued that partnership locally by teaming up with the United Way of Central Indiana to host their annual Hometown Huddle event at the John H. Boner Community Center. This year's event was geared toward the NFL's Play 60 initiative, which encourages youth to participate in at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day.

Colts DB Brandon Foster, WR Sam Giguere, RB Chad Simpson, WR Taj Smith, and OT Michael Toudouze joined one hundred students from Indianapolis' near eastside as they rotated through five stations that showed them different ways they can lead healthy, active lives. The American Heart Association hosted a station that illustrated creative ways to be active during commercial breaks with suggestions such as dancing, curling backpacks, and doing push-ups. Another station, hosted by Clarian Health and Colts cheerleaders, provided nutritional information and showed students how to make their own fruit kabobs.

Before leaving the Center, each youngster received a bag filled with a Colts jump rope, pedometer, t-shirt and several other goodies from United Way, the American Heart Association, Indiana Dairy Council and Clarian Health.
