The Indianapolis Colts open the 2014 regular season campaign with the Denver Broncos on NBC's Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. EDT at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Indianapolis will go for its seventh straight victory over Denver, including postseason, dating back to 2005. In last season's matchup, the Colts defeated the Broncos, 39-33, at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts wrapped up the preseason with an 0-4 record. Quarterback Andrew Luck completed 26-of-41 passes (63.4%) for 245 yards, two touchdowns and an 85.9 passer rating. Running back Daniel "Boom" Herron led the team in rushing yards (112), averaging 5.1 yards per carry, and also led in receptions (11).
Defensively, a pair of undrafted free agents, inside linebacker Henoc Muamba and defensive tackle Zach Kerr, led the team in tackles with 16 and 14, respectively. Muamba also finished with two forced fumbles and a sack. Overall, five undrafted free agent rookies earned a spot on the Colts' 53-man active roster, including center Jonotthan Harrison, cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy and running back Zurlon Tipton.
Following Sunday's season opener, Indianapolis will host the Philadelphia Eagles at Lucas Oil Stadium for a Week 2 matchup on ESPN's Monday Night Football.
