The Indianapolis Colts will host the Chicago Bears in their 2015 preseason home opener. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The matchup will mark the 16th all-time meeting between the teams in the preseason, with the Bears holding a 9-5-1 overall advantage. It will mark the first time the Bears have traveled to Indianapolis for a preseason game since 2007.
Last week, the Colts lost to the Philadelphia Eagles by the score of 36-10. The Colts were first to put points on the board when kicker Adam Vinatieri converted a 32-yard field goal on Indianapolis' second possession of the game. First-round draft pick wide receiver Phillip Dorsett led the Colts in receiving with four receptions for 51 yards, while fellow rookie running back Josh Robinson led the team in rushing with 44 yards and one touchdown.
Rookie inside linebacker Amarlo Herrera led Indianapolis' defense with five tackles and one interception as the Eagles converted only 3-of-14 third down attempts.
Prior to this week's game, the Colts will host the Bears at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center. The teams will conduct joint practices on Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Thursday, Aug. 20 in advance of the preseason contest on Aug. 22.
This marks the fourth time that the Colts have participated in joint practices with another team as they did so with the St. Louis Rams (1997, '99) and Tennessee Titans (2000). It will be the first time that the team has hosted such an arrangement in Indianapolis.
