INDIANAPOLIS – It's the offseason, so Colts.com takes a look at some tweets from Colts players to get an idea of what they are up to during their down time.
What an offseason so far for Pat McAfee. Did we mention that he also helped set two NFL records last season? With the Combine going on this week, McAfee is a reminder (along with Robert Mathis and Matt Hasselbeck) that NFL success can still come without an invite to the Combine. On Thursday, McAfee joined his friends at NFL AM to discuss his eventful offseason.
The local product Joe Reitz is always making the stops around the community. Reitz started 14 games for the Colts this past season, entering the lineup in Week Three at right tackle. In 2015, Reitz showed that he's more than a capable starting right tackle. Does Reitz's presence allow the Colts to look more towards the interior of the line this offseason?
Catchin a Uber home from the airport in Indy lol #WorthA2ndTry Happy to be home and grind! Been workin at home. Time to put in Indy — Sio Moore (@MrNapTown51) February 22, 2016
Sio Moore is an interesting name to watch for the Colts next season. If unrestricted free agent Jerrell Freeman doesn't return, one would think Moore is a candidate to start next to D'Qwell Jackson at inside linebacker. If the Colts don't bring in another inside backer in free agency/draft, then Moore and Nate Irving are going to have to play much greater roles in 2016.
Looks like the Colts have informed Billy Winn of their plans for him as an unrestricted free agent. Before free agency begins on March 9, this is pretty much the only way we are going to know if UFAs will not be retained. Winn was one of 12 unrestricted free agents for the Colts this offseason.
