Colts, Meijer Support Local Food Banks
INDIANAPOLIS – With donation levels at several Central Indiana food banks lower than needed to fulfill the requests in this challenging economy, the Indianapolis Colts and Meijer have teamed up to lend a hand through their SACKing Hunger Campaign. Through this campaign, the Colts and Meijer will host their fourth annual SACKing Hunger Food Drive at Lucas Oil Stadium prior to kickoff of the Colts vs. Patriots game on Sunday, November 15.
From 6-8 p.m. volunteers will be collecting canned and other non-perishable food items at the Colts Community Collection Stations, presented by Toyota, located outside each Lucas Oil Stadium gate. Each fan who donates at the game will receive a limited edition Colts poster featuring members of the Colts Defensive Line, while supplies last. Cash donations will also be accepted. All proceeds from the food drive will benefit Gleaners Food Bank in Indianapolis, Ind. For more information on Gleaners Food Bank, visit www.gleaners.org.
This is one of nine charity collections the Colts are hosting at their home games throughout the 2009 season. For a complete list, visit www.colts.com/collections.
