Colts, Indiana's Farmers Present 'Best Tailgate Recipe' Contest

Indianapolis – The 2018 Indianapolis Colts season is about to kick off, and the players are not the only ones getting "game ready." Fans across Indiana are starting to plan for game day and, for many, that includes special game day cuisine.

Once again this season, Colts fans who share their favorite, original tailgate recipe can win great prizes in the Colts Best Tailgate Recipe Contest, presented by the Indiana Corn Marketing Council, the Indiana Soybean Alliance and their checkoff dollars.

Winning submissions may receive cash and game tickets and also have their recipes featured in the 2018 Colts Tailgate Recipe Booklet.

"Indiana's farmers were the state's original 'tailgaters;' eating on the back of their pickups after working the soil," said Elaine Gillis, a rural Delaware County, Ind. grain farmer and director of the Indiana Soybean Alliance. "We want to recognize fans for the recipes that make their tailgates special. Indiana's corn and soybean growers believe in providing safe and whole food that is also fun, good-tasting and designed for sharing."

Fans may submit their favorite original tailgate recipe to **Colts.com/recipe** starting today through August 26, 2018.

Two finalists will compete in a cook-off for the title of "Colts Tailgate Recipe of the Year" at the Colts home game against Tennessee on Sunday, Nov. 18. The fan who submits the winning recipe will receive $1,000 and four tickets to a Colts home game. The runner-up will receive a $250 Colts Pro Shop Gift Card and four game tickets.

Four fans will win two home game tickets and have their recipes included in the 2018 Colts Tailgate Recipe Booklet, which also will feature recipes from Indiana farmers and Colts VIPs. Ten-thousand booklets will be distributed at the Colts game vs. Tennessee.
