INDIANAPOLIS – For the fourth straight year, the Colts elected to pass on using the franchise tag.
The clock towards free agency, which starts on Thursday, March 9, is now ticking a bit louder for the team's nine unrestricted free agents.
With free agency just over a week away, the Colts have not re-signed any of their pending free agents for 2017.
Here's are the 2017 UFAs for the Colts:S-Mike Adams
S/CB-[Darius Butler

Per the NFL, the tag keeps a pending unrestricted free agent on his team for one year with a guaranteed salary that is an average of the top five highest paid players at that position or 120% of the player's previous salary, whichever is greater.
The Colts really had no serious franchise tag candidates when you look at the criteria of guys tagged around the NFL.
Since 2012, the Colts have used the franchise tag twice: Robert Mathis (2012) and Pat McAfee (2013). *
