Indianapolis – For the 11th year, the Indianapolis Colts will join Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to sponsor the "Anthem Angels…Honoring Everyday Heroes" program, which will pay tribute to Hoosier public and civil servants who have made contributions to their community beyond the call of duty, but may have received little or no public recognition.
Now through December 10, the Colts will accept online nominations at **Colts.com/AnthemAngels**.
One "Anthem Angel" will be selected prior to each Colts regular season home game. Each "Angel" will receive four VIP club seat tickets and a feature story and photo in the Colts gameday magazine (The Scout) and on **Colts.com**, as well as on-field recognition at the game. The "Angel" of the week will be notified no later than the Wednesday prior to each home game.
"Anthem is proud to partner with the Colts organization to honor Indiana's everyday heroes who are making a positive impact in our community," said Rob Hillman, Indiana president and general manager of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. "We're fortunate to have 'Anthem Angels' to strengthen our communities throughout the state with their outstanding contributions."
To be eligible for consideration, nominees should be employed in human service-related professions, from first responders to educators and social workers. Nominations also must include a brief essay about the nominee, sharing their story about the actions that have made him or her a hero.
"Civil and public servants are the backbone of Indiana," said Kalen Jackson, Colts vice chair & owner. "Our continued partnership with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and 'Anthem Angels' gives our fans the opportunity to nominate these special individuals who go above and beyond to serve selflessly in their community."
The first "Angel" of the 2018 season will be recognized during the first regular season home game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, September 9, at Lucas Oil Stadium.
