Indianapolis – For the 11th straight year, the Indianapolis Colts and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will honor "Anthem Angels…Honoring Everyday Heroes," Hoosier public and civil servants who have made community contributions beyond the call of duty, but may have received little or no public recognition.

One "Anthem Angel" will be selected and notified prior to each Colts regular season home game. Each "Angel" receives four VIP club seat tickets, a feature story and photo in the Colts gameday magazine (The Scout) and on Colts.com, and special on-field recognition at a home game.

The first "Anthem Angel" of 2018 is Andy Harris of Indianapolis.

Harris goes above and beyond his call of duty as Wayne Township Trustee to help the people of his community. He demonstrates a passion for helping and serving others through his time and financial support.

In 2015, a high school senior tragically died in a car accident due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Harris raised more than $10,000 for the student's family by selling bracelets he had purchased with his own money. Since then, he has also started offering free carbon monoxide testing throughout Wayne Township and is working with the Indiana State Senate to pass a law that would require all vehicles to undergo a standard emissions test.

Harris will be recognized during the Colts' season opener vs. the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, September 9, at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Now through December 10, the Colts will accept online nominations for future "Anthem Angels" at Colts.com/AnthemAngels. Nominees should be employed in human service-related professions, from first responders to educators and social workers. Nominations also must include a brief essay about the nominee, sharing their story about the actions that have made him or her a hero.
