INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts have signed free agent wide receiver Kris Adams and waived outside linebacker Kevin Eagan.
Adams, 6-3, 194 pounds, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chicago Bears on July 26, 2011. He was signed to the Bears' practice squad on September 5 where he remained until October 11. Adams was signed to the St. Louis Rams practice squad on October 18 before being released on November 8. He was then signed to the Minnesota Vikings practice squad on December 14 where he spent the remainder of the season. Adams was signed to a Reserve/Future contract by the Vikings on January 2, 2012 and was then released by the team on May 14.
Adams spent his collegiate career at UTEP and ranked second in school history in touchdown receptions (30), third in yards per catch (18.5), fourth in receiving yards (2,657), tied for fourth in 100-yard games (10) and seventh in receptions (144). He tied for sixth on Conference USA's career touchdown receptions list and ranks 18th in receiving yards. Adams made 35 starts for the Miners, including 34 over his final three seasons. He earned honorable mention All-Conference USA honors as a senior.
Eagan was originally signed as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2012. He competed in four seasons on the defensive line at Endicott College.
