INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent cornerback Justin King.
King, 5-11, 197 pounds, enters his fifth year in the NFL after spending the past four seasons (2008-2011) with the St. Louis Rams. He was originally selected by the Rams in the fourth round (101st overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft.
In 35 career games (19 starts), King has totaled 131 tackles (95 solo), one sack, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and nine passes defensed. Last season, he set career highs with 63 tackles and six passes defensed while contributing with his first career sack, interception and forced fumble.
King started 31-of -38 games during his collegiate career at Penn State, including 26 at right cornerback. He totaled 90 tackles (67 solo), 23 passes defensed and three interceptions on defense and added 227 rushing yards and 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns on offense. King earned first-team All-Big Ten honors in his last season with the Nittany Lions.
