ANDERSON –The Indianapolis Colts acquired linebackers Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for cornerback Kevin Thomas and a conditional seventh-round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Fokou, 6-1, 236 pounds, is a four-year NFL veteran who has totaled 98 tackles (66 solo), one sack, four passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 43 career games (22 starts). In 2011, he totaled 27 tackles and two passes defensed and also ranked second on the team with 10 special teams tackles.
In 2009, Fokou tied for first on the team in special teams tackles (20) and also recovered two fumbles. In the same season, he set a career-high with nine tackles at San Diego (11/15). Fokou was originally a seventh round (230th overall) draft selection by the Eagles in 2009 after his collegiate career at Maryland.
Lloyd, 6-1, 247 pounds, was a seventh-round draft selection by Philadelphia in 2011. He was promoted to the 53-man roster in November of last season after spending the first 12 weeks of the campaign on the team's practice squad. Lloyd started 22-of-34 games at middle linebacker at the University of Connecticut and registered 177 tackles, 3.0 sacks and one interception during his collegiate career. He is the son of Rhonda Nelson and former Steelers linebacker Greg Lloyd.
Thomas was originally selected by the Colts in the third round (94th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft and competed in nine contests.
Linebacker A.J. Edds will be placed on Injured Reserve after clearing waivers. Edds was signed by the Colts off the New England Patriots practice squad on September 28, 2011.
