INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time, the Indianapolis Colts and 20/20 Institute are teaming up for the Vision of the Future Grant Program. This program gives Indiana youth the opportunity to make their community a better place by providing students ages 11 through 15 the opportunity to apply for individual grants up to $1,000 to complete a service project in their area. This year's grant recipients will be completing projects ranging from hospital art therapy to a college readiness program.
All applicants were required to partner with a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Grant recipients were asked to submit applications outlining what project they would like to do, the resources needed to complete the project and the impact their initiatives will make in their communities.
This year, the Indianapolis Colts and 20/20 Institute have selected five recipients to receive grants towards their service project. The 2017 Vision of the Future Grant recipients and their community partners are:
- Emma S. (Greenwood), 15, Cancer Support Community
- Imani R. (Indianapolis), 14, DJ Center for Youth
- Ava M. (Indianapolis), 15, Domestic Violence Network
- Sara W. (Elwood), 14, Eagle Pack Ministries
- Bethany D. (Indianapolis), 15, MSD of Lawrence Township Foundation, Inc.
"The 20/20 Institute honored is to be able to sponsor these young people who are willing to make a positive difference in their communities," said Dr. Diana Fisher, CEO of 20/20 Institute. "Our core values are centered around enhancing the lives of those around us and that is exactly what is taking place with each one of these wonderful programs. I am excited to see the impact they have made at the end of the year!"
